| RELIANCE SECURITY TEAM PRAISED FOR ENSURING SUCCESS OF ROYAL VISIT |

The Wrigley Company and Devon & Cornwall Police have praised the Reliance Security team for effectively managing a visit to the company’s Plymouth factory from Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh. Reliance was recognised for successfully increasing security for the royal visit on Thursday 11th March, which was arranged to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Wrigley Company’s Estover site. Wrigley manufactures a range of chewing and bubble gum products on the site, which was officially opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1972. Reliance was closely involved in preparations for the commemorative visit, and was proactive in managing both the excited crowds on the day and local media attention.

Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh toured
the company’s quality laboratory and manufacturing lines, and unveiled a
plaque celebrating 40 years of manufacturing at the Estover site. Over 1
million packets of chewing and bubble gum are produced at the site every
day. Wrigley has been selling chewing gum in the United Kingdom since 1911,
and the company opened its first UK manufacturing facility at Wembley in
1926.
Reliance Security Services Managing Director Neil Crossthwaite said “Our
team at Wrigley – including Supervisor Simon Corder and Security Officers
Jason King, Tony Clements, John Bethwaite, Paul Mahoney, Clark Lemon, Gary
Johnson and Linda Majevska and David Chammings – put in a huge effort on the
day. Our contacts at Wrigley have told us that the planning and actions of
the Reliance Security team on site were instrumental in making the royal
visit a great success. I’m enormously proud that the efforts of our team
have been acknowledged, and we’re really looking forward to continuing our
association with the Wrigley Company at Plymouth in the future.”
