News Description

James Caan said that the pitch was the best he had ever seen and made an immediate offer on Dragons Den last night. The pitch was made by Peter Harrison and Wesley Downham of FGH Security, one of the largest security suppliers based in the northwest. The pair took part in the latest series of Dragons Den and have now become one of only a handful of companies in all eight series of the programme to have been offered a full investment by all five of the Dragons. When it came to the crunch though, Peter Harrison (FGH Managing Director) and Wesley Downham (FGH Business Director) chose to give Theo Paphitis and Peter Jones a joint stake in their business.

James Caan said that the pitch was the best he had ever seen

“We couldn’t believe it at first to be honest” explained Peter Harrison, “We’ve always believed in ourselves and our services, but to have five of the country’s key business personalities attempting to be part of FGH is one of those things that you don’t really believe is happening at the time. It didn’t really sink in until we were driving back after we had finished filming.  I’d also like to add that despite what you see on the TV the Dragons were all very pleasant people who offered us some really good advice and encouragement – it’s fantastic to think that through hard work and vision we’ve taken a company from originally employing 10 people in 2003 to make it the multi-million pound security management company it is today where people like Peter and Theo can see the long term potential”

Business Director Wesley Downham said, “I don’t think people realise how much pressure you’re put under once the Dragons start firing questions at you. I know it makes good television but it is one of those moments where you either sink or swim. We knew our pitch inside out though and had answers to most of their questions to hand. I think that’s what really stood us apart and I was really hopeful but nothing could have prepared me for all five of the Dragons making an offer. It’s the stuff dreams are made of.”

FGH Security has been very busy as of late and are now in the final stages of preparing for the Dragons to come on board.  They have high expectations for the future of the company and how it’s going to develop over the next few years. “We know there will be a few immediate changes that will really give us a boost but I’d like to think that over the long term the company will become one of the major players in the national market not just the northwest region,” explained Peter Harrison.

FGH Security provides a range of security services to public and private sector clients across the country. It’s made up of two brands FGH Security and FGH Guardhall. FGH Security covers all of the manned security divisions from Security Guards through to Event Security Teams. And FGH Guardhall is responsible for all of the company’s electronic security solutions - mainly intruder alarms and CCTV, access control and the ever increasingly popular remote monitoring. Both areas of the company work in unison to provide fully integrated solutions to a range of clients.
